We charge per client and not per account. This means that our maximum platform charge is the most you will pay for all your accounts, valued together.
Our maximum platform charge for all your accounts* is £600 per annum (averaging £50 per month). This means that you do not pay any additional platform fees on holdings worth over £200,000.
* Joint accounts are charged separately.
Preferential Platform Fee Rates for Transfers (4th March – 30th April 2026)
A maximum annual platform charge of £300 (averaging £25 per month for all your accounts, except any joint accounts) is available for both new and existing clients when transferring a qualifying amount of cash and/or investments to the Charles Stanley Direct Online Investing service during this time, from an equivalent platform or provider (the ‘Offer’). These rates will be applied until 30th September 2028 following which they will return to standard rates.
New clients
Clients who do not have any accounts with us as at 4th March 2026 will qualify for a preferential maximum annual platform charge of £300 (normally £600) when transferring in £200,000 or more of cash and/or investments to the Charles Stanley Direct Online Investing service between 4th March and 30th April 2026. Plus you may claim Cashback for transfers worth at least £20,000 (subject to Terms) as well as a six-month fee waiver of the platform charge if you transfer at least £200,000 of cash and/or investments to us.
Existing clients
Clients with us as at 4th March 2026 who transfer cash and/or investments to the Charles Stanley Direct Online Investing service between 4th March and 30th April 2026, which increases, or results in, their overall value with us being at least £200,000, or more, will qualify for a reduction of their maximum annual platform charge to £300. Plus you may claim Cashback (subject to Terms) as well as a six-month fee waiver of the platform charge if you transfer at least £200,000 of cash and/or investments to us.
What do I need to do to qualify?
- Transfer cash and/or investments held in an existing General Investment Account, ISA, Junior ISA, Child Trust Fund or SIPP with another equivalent provider to your existing account(s), or new account(s) set up, with the Charles Stanley Direct Online Investing service.
- Claim your preferred platform charge rates by sending us a secure message through the website or app entitled “Preferred Rates” with the details of your transfer(s) once they have completed. To be eligible, you must claim within six months of the completion date of the final transfer and receive an acknowledgment from us by secure message confirming your eligibility.
- Transfers do not need to have completed by 30th April 2026, but must be instructed by this date.
- Claim your six-month fee waiver of the platform charge, for transfer(s) worth £200,000 or more, by sending us a secure message through the website or app entitled “Fee Waiver” to claim it within six months of the completion date of the final transfer. You must also receive an acknowledgment from us by secure message confirming your eligibility.
- Claim your Cashback by sending us a secure message through the website or app entitled “Cashback” with the details of your transfer(s) at the time you request them and receive an acknowledgment from us by secure message confirming your eligibility.
The Offer does not apply to:
- Any investments currently or previously held by you with the Charles Stanley Direct Online Investing service and/or Charles Stanley.
- Any cash top ups of your existing account(s) with us by way of debit card, cheque or electronic transfer or any other new investment by you with us which does not involve a transfer from another provider.
- Any movement of cash and/or investments between or within accounts already held with us, the receipt of any income and interest in those accounts or the performance of any cash and/or investments transferred to us.
- Any deposit of funds in our Cash Savings service or Cash ISAs provided in conjunction with Bondsmith.
