Richard is a Branch Director within the Exeter office. He is an Investment Manager & looks after portfolios for private clients, trusts and pensions and works closely with their other advisors to enable a strong partnership for holistic advice. Richard is a graduate of Exeter University and has been working as an Investment Manager since 2001. Richard is a former trustee of a local charity and has developed a strong link with both local and national charity contacts and is now actively involved in looking to develop his work within the charity sector. In conjunction with two independent partners, he now regularly runs a charity workshop to provide a facility for charity contacts to discuss issues which are relevant to the sector at the current time. Richard lives in Exmouth, with his wife and two children. When the commitments of a busy family life allow, Richard enjoys most sports and visits a gym regularly.

Alistair is an experienced private client Investment Manager having started his investment management career in the City over thirty years ago. It was a real 'baptism of fire' as it was only a few months prior to the infamous October 1987 'crash'. This and the subsequent ups and downs in the markets have provided Alistair with invaluable experience of managing portfolios in differing and difficult market conditions. Alistair is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments and manages portfolios on behalf of a range of private individuals (including SIPPs), trusts and charities.

Phill has been at Charles Stanley for over 25 years after joining our back office in 1993. Having worked his way up from the Contracts Department, he has taken all the relevant exams to become a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investments. Phill has been actively managing a range of clients’ portfolios for over 20 years and offers a bespoke management service for private clients, trusts, personal pensions and company accounts. Having reached the 25 year mark in the City, Phill had the opportunity to move offices and bring his wealth of experience to the Leigh-on-Sea Branch, having known the team for many years, as he lives locally. He currently resides in Leigh-on-Sea with his wife Anne-Marie, and children Alana and Ollie. What spare time he has, he enjoys boxing and football and is a Tottenham Hotspur season ticket holder.

Steph joined Charles Stanley in December 2015 and built on her existing admin experience to gain a deeper understanding of the investment industry. Steph is an experienced member of the team delivering a high level of service for clients managed by Chris, Charlotte and William and is an Information Provider, allowing her to provide all levels of information on portfolios outside of advice. She also holds two of the three papers required for the CISI Investment Operations Certificate. Steph spends most of her spare time as Chairman of her local amateur dramatics society ensuring the smooth running of the company.

Christopher spent 22 years in the Royal Navy as a Chartered Engineer, mostly in nuclear-powered submarines. On leaving the Navy in 1994 he joined Laws & Co in Bristol, subsequently part of the Greig Middleton Group. He was invited to join Charles Stanley in 2001 to run the Bath office but stepped aside from this aspect in 2013 to concentrate on his role as an investment manager. His clients include individuals, families, small companies/businesses, trusts, charities and pension funds. Christopher has a BSc in Marine Engineering (from the Royal Naval Engineering College), a post-graduate Diploma in Nuclear Technology (Royal Naval College, Greenwich) and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments. He is a trustee of the Princess Anne’s Charities Trust and Whitehill Chase Foundation Trust. Past passions such as sailing, polo and horses have passed by the wayside but tennis, ski-ing and country pursuits continue. Christopher is married with two sons and lives in North Wiltshire.

Scott is a Chartered Financial Planner and Fellow of the Personal Finance Society who opened our Aberdeen office in 2018. Scott joined Charles Stanley from another national firm of advisers where he spent 20 years, rising to the level of Partner. He deals with a wide range of clients throughout the North and North East of Scotland, including Inverness and the Shetland Isles. Clients include Partners of Law and Accountancy practices and professionals in the Oil and Gas sector.

Connor joined Charles Stanley in 2020 as a Trainee Investment Advisor. Connor holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from Glasgow Caledonian University and also successfully secured a Scholarship to study for a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance, which he passed with Merit. He is currently pursuing his professional exams with the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investments in order to become an Investment Manager. Connor aids in the management and administration of both Kris’ & Mary’s advisory and discretionary portfolios. Outside of work, Connor spends his time playing chess, reading and stargazing.

Michelle Murphy joined Charles Stanley in September 2019, having previously worked at Tilney and Grant Thornton. Michelle is a graduate of Queens University Belfast with a BSc Hons Economics degree as well as holding the CII Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning along with Certificates in Financial Planning and in Life & Pensions. With over 12 years paraplanning experience, Michelle covers all research areas of pensions, protection, investment management, and taxation. Michelle provides the best solutions following research that meet clients’ individual financial needs and translates this into bespoke reports and supporting evidence for consideration by our clients. She also undertakes analytical work including cash flow, asset allocation and investment modelling. Michelle helps support the Financial Planning Team provide the best client journey experience.

Nic Muston has over 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry and has specialised in the investment of charitable funds for the last twenty years. He is a fully qualified Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment. After 5 years working for a Norwich based Stockbroker he joined Greig Middleton Stockbrokers in 1996. This evolved into Gerrard Investment Management and which was subsequently acquired by Barclays Wealth. He moved to Charles Stanley in 2007 and looks after a wide range of charitable accounts including faith based charities, medical, grant giving and many more. He is based in the London head office and in his spare time is kept busy by his wife and two young sons.

Tsitsi is a founding member of the Innovation Through Inclusion Group which supports, Charles Stanley’s diversity agenda and a member of the Editorial Panel of the CISI’s magazine, The Review. In 2018 Tsitsi was awarded the Women In Finance Rising Star of the Year Award and in 2019 she received the Bronze Woman of the Year Rising Star Award at the Citywealth 2019 Powerwomen Awards. Kate Nathoo has over 25 years investment experience. She was a founding partner at Daniels Holt Investment Managers and Client Director at Thesis Asset Management. Kate is a Chartered Fellow of the CISI and was President of the CISI Southern Branch from 2016 to 2018. Kate joined the Charles Stanley Guildford office in May 2018. She continues to specialise in the provision of Discretionary Investment Management for Private Clients, Trusts and Charities. Kate is a Trustee for a local professional theatre company, Guildford Shakespeare Company; she loves both theatre and classical music. She also enjoys local walking afforded by the beautiful Surrey Hills countryside.

William has recently joined the team in Ipswich having spent 10 years in the City where he worked at various financial brokerages. His interest in financial markets and ability to dissect what is (and isn’t) important brought along a column in the City A.M. newspaper in a previous role. This, tied with a natural ability to get on with people, meant a move into Wealth Management was the perfect fit. He is currently sitting the final exams of the Chartered Wealth Manager qualification, after which he would like to take the third and final CFA exam. William recently got married in Aldeburgh (where he is a fervent member of the golf club) and he has moved to Suffolk with his wife and Labrador puppy for a quieter life out of London.

Sammy O’Brien came to us from a legal background and joined Gerrard in 2005 which then evolved into Barclays Wealth and latterly moved to Charles Stanley in 2007. Charles and Sammy have built up a strong and definitive Probate Valuation Department with local solicitors in the Guildford and surrounding area. She provides administrative and secretarial support to the team and is often the first point of contact for the majority of the team's clients. Her interests include singing, acting and directing and she has written her own musical which was performed in Dorking. During the current COVID19 crisis Sammy has been singing to the residents in care homes in and around Surrey.

Phil has been with Charles Stanley since 2002 and was the Deputy Client Services Manager for the company’s online division before taking up the role as the Edinburgh Office Manager in September 2018. Phil graduated from Heriot-Watt University in in 1997 after completing a Batchelor of Science Degree in Building Surveying and a Diploma in Project Management. He worked within the construction industry for several years before joining Charles Stanley. He is responsible for the smooth running of the Edinburgh office on a day to day basis along with dealing with staff matters. Phil also assists with the Branch’s Corporate Actions and is part of the team who deal with Execution Only clients.
