More about Simon
Simon started his career in June 1987 working for Penney Easton in London which,
after various mergers and name changes, evolved into Allied Provincial Securities. In
1994 Simon chose to take a break from the investment industry whilst studying for an
MBA at Bradford University Management School, which he passed with distinction.
After completing the MBA, Simon joined Greg Middleton, which eventually evolved
into Barclays Wealth. At Barclays Wealth Simon was Portfolio Manager for both the
Leeds and Teesside offices,managing in excess of £100m of discretionary money. A
large percentage of this money was charitable money. In May 2008 Simon, together
with Jonathan Baker, was offered the opportunity to set up the new Leeds office for
Charles Stanley. Finally, he is also a parent governor at his local village primary school
and Chair of the Finance Committee.
