Charles Stanley, one of the UK’s leading wealth managers, has opened its first office in Northern Ireland, with a new team in Belfast. The Belfast office will be based at the Scottish Provident Building, 7 Donegall Square West in the city-centre, increasing the number of Charles Stanley offices around the UK to 27.
The Belfast office will be jointly headed up by newly-appointed Directors of Financial Planning, Alexandra Price and Neil Torney, who have both joined from Tilney. They report into John Redpath, Executive Director of Financial Planning in Edinburgh.
Alexandra worked at Tilney for three years as a financial planner where she advised high net worth clients and worked with solicitors and accountants. Areas she has worked on throughout her 23-year career include divorce (using cash flow modelling), personal injury and Court of Protection, as well as charities and trustees. She has previously worked for Grant Thornton, Aon Hewitt, Scottish Widows and Standard Life.
Neil worked for Tilney for over eight years as a Chartered Financial Planner where he specialised in financial cashflow modelling, use of Trusts, inheritance tax and estate planning, retirement income generation and investment solutions. He has previously worked for Standard Life, Grant Thornton and Higgins Insurance and Investments.
Andrew Meigh, Managing Director of Financial Planning at Charles Stanley, said: “This new office now gives Charles Stanley overall coverage of the UK for the first time. It follows on from our successful office opening in Glasgow earlier in the month and demonstrates delivery of our continued growth plans. Belfast has been highlighted as one of the UK’s fastest-growing financial services hubs and we see significant opportunity there.
“Alex and Neil both have excellent track records in helping clients to make the most of the wealth they have, and protect and grow it to meet their existing and future lifestyle needs. I am delighted to welcome them to the team.”
The office has the capacity for the team to grow with two additional people waiting to start and Charles Stanley is currently recruiting for additional financial planners.
