We are pleased to announce that we have signed a deal to continue our partnership as the official wealth management sponsor of Harlequins Rugby club for a further three years, including a new deal to be the official sponsor of the ‘Big Game’.
The partnership, which has been in place since 2019, will continue with its focus on player welfare through initiatives, such as the ‘State of Play’, that aim to help players plan for a transition out of the game and make the necessary financial provisions for their future.
The new partnership means Charles Stanley will sponsor the world’s biggest annual club rugby event, the ‘Big Game’, for the first time. Both the women’s and men’s team face local rivals on the same day with the proceeds going to charity through the Harlequin’s Foundation.
Charles Stanley and Harlequins are a great match as both have long and stable track records, having been around since 1792 and 1866 respectively, demonstrating strength and resilience. I am delighted to continue this partnership. We have been able to make a difference, through initiatives, such as the educational report “State of Play”, that advise players on how they can plan for life after Rugby. We will continue to focus on supporting the players’ welfare and connecting with our clients through a mutual love of the game.
Paul Abberley, CEO at Charles Stanley
This has been a successful partnership, especially for the benefit of our players and the Harlequins Foundation, and we look forward to sharing and learning from each other as our partnership evolves through to 2026. As a Club, we have a real desire to constantly progress in everything we do, both on and off the pitch. The ‘State of Play’ is a prime example of the work the Club wishes to continue alongside Charles Stanley.
